Dominykas Norkūnas

Lithuanian poet, translator and publisher. He studied German philology in Vilnius university. His original poems have been recognized by the Lithuanian cultural press and multiple poetic festivals. D. Norkūnas’ first book Darkness Is an Octopus will be published in 2021. His poems have been translated into English, Chinese, Latvian and Polish.

D. Norkūnas translates poetry from English, German, Dutch, Russian and Latvian languages. Among the translated authors are Jerome Rothenberg, Kenneth Rexroth, W.S.Merwin and others. D. Norkūnas’ poetic translations were awarded with The Poetry Spring Prize for translating world’s poetry into Lithuanian and the prestigious Translators’ Union Prize for the Best Translator Debut in 2021. He also contributed to translating the anthology of contemporary Georgian poets “Aidintys / ექო”.
