Fernanda Melchor

Journalist and writer recognised as one of the most outstanding contemporary Latin American authors. Before she started her career in literature, she had already received several awards in investigative journalism. She has authored three novels of which Temporada de huracanes (Hurricane Season), released in 2017, has met with the greatest success. It has been translated into 25 languages and won the Anna Seghers Prize in Germany where it won the International Literature Award as the best foreign prose translated into German in 2019; it was also shortlisted for the International Booker Prize in 2020.
